Stereo installation ideas

I am wanting to add a stereo to my boat. It is a Triton TS18 which is similar to a Bass Tracker. All aluminum. Has anyone added a marine stereo to their boat? Appears I will have to cut some fairly large holes to install the speakers. What type hole saw or other saw would be best for cutting the aluminum? Also, any tips about installing a stereo are appreciated. Most folks think the noise will scare the fish. I will probably not be using it except when running or if fishing deep and also in the salt flats. More for the wife and kids but I kinda like to hear some good tunes while on the water too. I noticed some of the Lowrance users have the XM or Sirrus running through their DF. Figured some of ya'll have done this and could help out. Thanks.

A decent jig saw with a metal blade will do the cutting. Sometimes the aluminum will clog in the blade, so go slow and have a couple of extra blades handy. Also use a file to "deburr" the rough edges once you've made the cut. Make sure you have clearance behind the blade and that you're not cutting something you shouldn't be. I hope to be getting the sound system for my Lowrance HDS soon. I don't need the Sirius connection, but the radio and MP3 will come in handy. I might subscribe to sirius during College football season.

You can use a jig saw, but be aware of that 2inch or so blade and what is behind where you are cutting. I prefer a dremel tool with a diamond blade. It is smaller and easier to use than a Jig Saw (IMHO).

Thanks. I forgot all about the jig saw and dremel.Doh I don't mind drilling a few holes to mount things, but cutting big holes concerns me. I guess I need to measure 4 times, triple check whats behind the area, and cut once!
