Ping speed

This is a little talked about feature....(other than changing the ping speed to possibly clear up sonar to sonar interference)....

Most opinions on ping speed say just to leave it in "Auto"......

I don't play well with "Auto".....I like pushing buttons....

When would it be advantageous to change the ping speed...??

And Why...??

Someone jump in here and give me a good reason that I can take this setting out of "Auto" to explore ideas to use different ping speeds....

Just can't leave well enough alone can you? Rofl I am just like you. If I can push a button, I can convince myself it's better where I put it vs. where it was-for a while anyway. I have messed some things up doing that though. Most of the time it was fixable.
