    Default Terrova shaft cutoff

Have any of you ever cut off a shaft on a Terrova with I-pilot? I need to cut about six inches off of my shaft to get the motor to clear my rod holders. I do not have an option with my rod holder placement. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Let only authorized service center do it so you retain the warranty.

Thanks. My authorized service center wants $85.00 to do this. He said it would take an hour. Does that sound right?

I cut one shaft down myself in about an hour. The next one I let Lance at Grizzly Jig cut it down and he charged me $30. $85 sounds way too steep.

Lance at Grizzly did mine also for around $30. It is a very easy job, I wouldn't be scared to do it. Doesn't void the warranty if an ASC does it though.

Thanks. I went ahead and let my ASC do it due to warranty concerns. The first time I used the trolling motor the plastic where the collar that turns the motor broke. I took it back then so they would fix it under warranty and went ahead and let them cut the shaft.

I mounted my Terrova so it would not interfere with my rod holders. Name: front boat deck 002.jpg
