Lowrance HDS-8 returned and great customer service.
Well I had my first issue with a Lowrance product. I was caught out in a rain a 3 weeks ago, and on saturday the 21st I turned on my hds-8 to fish a tourney, and it went right back out, not to turn back on again.
I got home, and took my unit off and as I was changing the angle of it to face down, I noticed some water trickled down the screen. It then dawned on me that yes, I was caught out in a rain the week before. Ive had my unit about 15 months now, but I called Lowrance and reported the issue anyway. They said to mail it to them, and they would check it out. I mailed it on monday May 23rd. I recieved a replacement unit (HDS8) from ups today 8 days later, and don't forget yesterday was a holiday. My replacement unit already has the 4.0 software installed and ready to go. Put new unit on boat this afternoon and it works flawlessly. I've heard of all kinds of different stories from several folks on how they was treated but they sure took care of me. I did have my receipt, and I explained in a short letter what unit acted like. All I can say, is thank you to Lowrance for taking care of my problem, and doing it with almost no down time. I missed only 1 weekend without my unit. Thanks again for taking care of me.
