Fishfinders ??????

Hi. everyone, I need a little advice. I have fished all my life and a 52 i have fished a bunch. But i am looking at buying my first FF kinda. I did have a cheap finder years ago. Here's my story last week i bought a boat a Tracker pro angler 16. This boat came with a Lowrance X50DS. I want one up front mounted to my TM. My son is pushing me toward the HB 570 DI. And that's about all i care to spend (300)on one at this time. I have been leaning toward the HB PiranhaMax 170 at $100. I just wonder if i need or will use the DI. The lakes around the house are 9.9HP lakes so there small. These lakes have a bunch of timber standing and fell downs. I'm sure there's a ton of under water drop offs and brush piles. That I'm clueless about. The lakes are max 40 some feet mostly in the teens to 20's in depth. These lakes are flooded hollows if that gives you a better idea what there like.

My .02, I just "upgraded" to a unit with side and down imaging. It's amazing what you can see that you never knew was there with a basic unit. I'm glad I bought it and now wish I had bought one several yrs ago when I first started reading about them. Way cool!

Thanks that's what i keep reading. I wasn't planning on spending that much. But maybe after i sell my old boat.

That 570 DI would be a very good unit for what you are wanting to spend. Put it on your consol and move existing one to front.
