My trolling motor seems to be getting louder?

It might be me hearing things because my wife says I don’t hear squat. (Maybe I just don’t listen):D

There seems to be a humming noise coming from the motor head. I took prop off and nothing wrapped. The shaft does have slight play, is this normal??? Runs fine.

Play side to side or in and out?

A little in and out play is normal. Any nicks on the prop? A slight imbalance can cause vibration. If you have a spare, give it a try.

When I took the prop off to make sure there was not line or small crappie stuck in it I ran it without the prop and same noise. It may have always sounded like this but when It's running in the water and I can hear it I wonder what it's doing to the fish.

I guess not much cause we caught two limits Sat and two limits on Sun with fish in 0 to 3 fow right on the bank ??????Thumbs Up
