Default SI/ DI on the front of boat

How many of you guys/ gals are using SI or DI on the front (trolling motor)? What do you like or not like about it? I understand that you have to be moving to get either to show a good picture. Thanks for the input.

I've got the LSS-1 transducer installed on the Transom. I use ethernet and keep an eye on it when I'm on the trolling motor. I do my scouting and marking from the console, and my fishing when I'm trolling. I've thought about adding a second LSS-1 but, not willing to spend the money yet.

If you are moving a little, you'll get the best reading. You can interpret sitting still also.

I get great pictures down to 0.1mph....

I have my 1197 on the front of the boat because that's where I spend 95% of my fishing day...

I use SI to find the structure/fish when on the big motor - And down image/sonar when on the front while fishing.

I just use 2D on the bow. If my 997 had an ethernet port on it, I would have bought an 898 rather than the 858 if I could have talked the wife into it. I still would have used a 2D transducer on the TM and networked to the SI on the console unit to see SI on using the bow unit.
