Default Looking at getting a Minn Kota with I pilot.

I am looking a getting a new trolling motor for my 2002 tracker proteam 165.After looking at minn kotas web site the size shaft that they recommend is smaller than what they have available. could i put one on thats bigger and adjust it up. or is this motor out of the question.

I have a Terrova, and shaft can be adjusted. I believe most models have some built-in adjustment. If length is very much longer than you need, and depending on mounting position on your boat, the head may stick out a bit from the boat and you may have to be careful approaching docks, trees, etc. with the trolling motor in the stowed position.

You can adjust the height to where you need it. As stated before be careful of the overhang when stored away. If all else fails you could have a service center cut it for you.

I also have a Tracker proteam 165 that came with a 42" shaft Motorguide. Last month I installed an i-pilot, 48" shaft. It is adjustable, and mounts just fine.
