Default Lowrance HDS water temp intermittent.....

My HDS temp overlay reading is intermittent. Sometimes the temp is displayed and sometimes I just get 3 dashes. I noticed this in some of MDuncan's pics too. I also noticed the temp reading missing on the Lowrance facebook HDS wall pics and also missing on some of their HDS photo collections. Anybody noticing this problem?

Yes, I had that issue but it started after I installed the 3.5...... update. I redone the updates over and over (2 units are linked with lss-1) and found sometimes the other one would have it but never both at the same time. Finally accepted it and now that I just updated one of my two hds units with the new update, both units now display the temperature correctly. My hds8 for some reason will not recognize the new 4.0 update but man oh man, I got on water last evening and seen the new 3 screen setup on my hds7 and absolutely love it.Its much faster changing screens too it seems. Water too deep here Beagle. haha..... I ain't got to use my stuff much since I got it all networked. I thought if you make a transducer local, then the temp reading would not show up on other units? I dunno yet.

where's your temp sensor coming from?

you can go into your net work and go into device source and go under sonar then temp and put your temp in local and see if that fixes your problem.

2 transducers. Lss and 2d. 2d only on lcx, not networked yet. The lss is global. Why should it not work on global? Book says it should according to settings and default.

the lss-1 temp will not show on the lcx. because of the different software between the hds and lcx.

LCX is not networked. It is stand alone for 2d. HDS8 and HDS7 are networked. The water temp comes on and goes off when it feels like it.
