Hummingbird is AWESOME! I received my Humminbird Select package today. Unsolicited! This gives some nice features, but the biggest is they are extending my Warranty for another year! WOOHOO.. FOR FREE! What a great company! So those of you that have registered your HB 858 and UP you may also get this in the mail! I already put my Humminbird select stickers on my boat! Seems a little backhanded that they don't do the same for the 700 series owners. Guess you don't matter unless you spend more money.

For the guys with units less then 1yr old and 800 series and up, congrats, you now have the basic 2yr warranty that Lowrance gives for HDS units.

If your electronics has lasted a year or more without failure, I'd suspect that its free of manufacturing defects. Peace of mind of having it extended for those of us with older units would be nice, but the probability of a defect showing up is small.

That is a good way to look at the bright side, and it's probably correct also. Would have been nice for HB to include the 798 though.
