Lowrance hds 5 with lake insight

I tried a navionics platinum chip in my lowrance this weekend and had issues. I changed the setup on the unit from lowrance to navionics and then i installed the chip. Everything came up as it should for about thirty seconds then the screen went blank. This happened several times before i gave up and reinstalled my lei hot spot and it worked fine. Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I did not change any settings when i installed the lakmaster chip. Not sure why you had to change settings

Make sure your unit is updated to the 3.5 version software. There have been some issues with the Platinum chips that this update resolves along with adding support for SonicHub and other updates.

Thanks. I FOUND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THE CHIP WAS A 2009 MODEL AND ANY LOWRANCE HDS UNIT REQUIRES A 2010 OR NEWER. I APPRECIATE YOUR REPLYS.
