Which Minn Kota Trolling Motor Have RFI Interference ??

Have a 798 ci SI hd , Have no RFI problems with my old M/K 599 41 lb thrust , But am wanting to up grade , I have heard that the V/speed motors have lots of RFI problems If so I would rather get a 5 speed , Little help . anyone out there have problems with the 5 speed motors .

The variables are the ones that generate interference. The downside to the 5-speed is that they use full power regardless of the setting, where the variable just uses whatever it's set at.

Really ! I didn't know that , So if I set the speed on 2 or 3 the motor uses the same amount of power as on 5 ??

Yes. The speed coil just dumps the excess power as heat into the water. Not nearly as efficient as the variables unless you run near maximum power most of the time.
