    Question Not boats, but......

I posted this in mechanics forum too........
I had some fog lights installed on the back of my truck to help when launching boat at night, pulling trailers, etc. I had a reputable guy do it, and no problems noted. Last night I flicked the switch, and although the lights come on, I can hear ( and feel) the relay popping/clicking. I have not noticed this before. Do I need to take this back and let him replace/fix something?
Just never had to deal with this before.
    Thanks
    Tom

The relay may not be heavy enough to carry the amp load.

My question is why would there even be a need for a relay? Power, Ground, Lights, Switch should be all you need I do believe.

Because a relay can handle the current, allowing you to use a small switch and to run small wiring into the dash.
