Just downloaded 5.41 s/w for my 788ci HD DI over at

maachuu...it's always a good idea to have your current version of SW on a separate SD card in case something goes awry with the update...

I keep 5 SD cards with my unit at all times...
1 for previous version of SW
1 for current version of SW
1 for waypoint backup
1 for previos recordings
1 blank for today's recordings...

Reverting to known good previous version of SW is the easiest way to troubleshoot if a bug is in your new update....

Thanks Rickie, I am a member over there at that site but had forgot it had the s/w, I found my original for 898 but the 788ci s/w is not on there yet. Maybe some one will put it up soon

I cant get the 998 & 788 to see one another.

Anyone else having any luck? If so I might could narrow it down to the cable, but it's buried deep in the boat in protective wrap. I do NOT want to have to replace it.

went to the site to register to do the download as you suggested, but it will not take a password. cant get the cursor to come up on that field

I had the same problem, when I finally got to talk to a person at HB they had me reregister as a new user. Worked fine then.
