Default Two mounting locations - 898c SI

Has anyone successfully created two mounting locations for their 798, 898, 998, or 1198 SI unit? I have a 898 mounted at the console. I rarely fish from the front of the boat since I mainly troll but it would be nice to be able to move my 898 to the front of the boat. Has anyone created two mounting locations for a single unit? If so, what all did you need and how does it work? Was it worth it?

    I think I would need:
    Power wire (PC11) - $13.99
    Sonar extension (ECw10 or ECw30) - $24.99 to $34.99
GPS cable extension (AS SYSLINK) - $34.99
    Mounting bracket (GM2) - $26.99

I could run the power wire all the way from the battery to the front. Then run the sonar and GPS extension cables from the console (current 898 location). Then when I wanted to use the unit in the front I would have to connect the sonar and GPS cables under the console. It would be nice if there was a switch or a splitter wire for this so the wires always stayed hooked up. Any ideas on this?

I'm trying to do the same thing. I thought about buying another power cord and using a small 12v battery at the front like they use ice fishin.

Are you doing this without having a transducer up front?
