good idea, we could make a a new thread, as this one is rather misleading at this time. maybe we could get one of the lowrance boys to come onboard to help as they do in other sites, such as nextbite.com and theb*******s.com

I have also been following this since the beginning.
The weather has been just miserable up here so I've only been out on the water only a few times. I really like those pics and it would be helpful to know your settings. I normally fish depths down to maybe 15 - 20 FOW.
Any info on setting would be useful. sensitivity, surface clarity ect.....
although i am just learning, i am starting to develop more feel for the adjustments. i now have a new delima,(google chrome) which i normally use for browser, has stopped working for whatever reason and i have gone to bing, the download of the pictures is different using it for some reason----JUST WHEN I WAS GETTING THE HANG OF IT----so ill get chrome fixed again by deleting it and reloading i hope and then back to picures. i have some with the adjustments on the screen. i can tell you that when you get into shallow water 2 to 4 feet the adjustments usually have to be changed ---------was not the case with the old units.
what do youall want to name the new thread. do you want it pertaining to just lowrance ? let humminbird have their own if they want? i think to keep them seperate would be less confusing for everyone as it gets confusing enough the way it it. suggestions for name of new thread would be good?
i will post for you some info on the settings that i have tried, but remember each palette is a different color, and i have found needs different settings in many cases for viewing, depending on the light cast on the hds unit, particulary so witht he structure scan di and si, i have found, or else i just still dont know what im doing---and that could very well be true too! the auto is coming out fairly well on the sonar, i play with it, just cause i can, but depth , can make a difference.
how about "LOWRANCE HDS DISCUSSIONS AND INTERPERTATIONS ONGOING"
I'll buy that & pay cash too...............Hands ClappingHands ClappingHands Clapping
I have mine set on "shallow water" the few times I've actually been out. Last night when I loaded the 4.0 upgrade, I changed it to "fresh water". The biggest problem I have is everything is flooded up here and I have no idea when I'm going to get a chance to get out and see what difference the settings actually made.
Now the computer at home won't log on to Crappie.com
