Do you need to see arches? And are they fish arches? Up here in the North if I turn the ID off so it doesn't show the fish symbols and their depths-it will show me arches-and these up here are Walleyes. I'm not familiar with Fla. the reason for the arches up here? Walleyes have a bigger air bladder than most fish. It may be in Fla. you have fish similar? With large air bladder's? If you do then with the iD off they should show up. Am I making any sense??
yes, you are making sense. crappie, bass, brim, etc all have air bladders and should show up, but they are not. the walleye with the very large air bladder, would really show up.
the following link is what i am currently looking at along with the other posts about lowrance/ and or the hds units.
Shallow Water Arches | thenextbite.com
I've used Lowrance on all my boats. I was always fishing Lake Huron & Sag Bay. I never had any trouble seeing arches, but I was in deeper water. I have a smaller boat now with just a cheap finder. It might make a difference how deep you are? Don't know, just tossing out something. Good Luck in your Tourny. and with your electronics...Wish I could help more..
I appreciate your interest and i will keep updating until i get the problem solved
UPDATE: call lowrance---wheres the new transducer you were sending out last week? it just shipped today---dont know if they were out of stock or what! ok where's my $499.00 you charged to my debit card for the other structure scan unit you sent out until you got the other returned--last time i asked you said it was processed on the 5th of april. i dont see it in my bank yet! well you need to call your bank as we processed it--must be on their end its not showing up---i said i do online banking and its not there--i think its you guys responsibility to see it gets there, dont you? no, not really, we processed it! ok, you got till monday, them im sending the BIG DOGS IN! lol
UPDATE: currently at lake istapogo, bluegill arent biting. brother in law has not put the 798 si on the mount on the boat yet, as he says hes niot sure he wants me touching it--wonder why? lol hope he puts it on tomorrow---i think hes going to have a surprise---the marina mounted the transducer for it last week, and today while running i saw a rooster tail coming out from behind the boat while running----oops! he really might want to take advantage of what i have learned in the last month----well see!
UPDATE: apologies to Navionics/Lowrance. after speaking with my bank today, the $499.00 refund went in on the 6th of april --1 day after lowrance processed it--i missed seeing it---1 day was great! sorry for the bad report--Lowrance.
