    Default Elite 5 DSI

Well, broke down and bought a new finder for the skiff. Really wanted SI but just couldn't break myself to spend the extra cash. For what I do and the types of fishing I'm into I'm thinking this Elite 5 DSI with GPS should do the trick for me. Now to order some maps......

Congrats. From everything I've seen, it should do just fine.

ELITE 5 has micro sd card slot. regular sd card wont work. if you have navionics on regular sd card it wont work.you will have to buy navionics on micro sd card.

This unit will only take the Premium maps from Navionics. The Platinum maps won't work! Good news is the Premium maps are great!

I'm thinking of getting one for using on my trolling motor, where are you going to mount yours? Have a HDS7 at the console so I wouldn't need the one with gps..let us know how it works out. Thanks

Found this info on another site about the Elite 5 DSI. Much more information than the operator's manual

Good info, cant make my mind up though...will be putting it on a Terrova Ipilot and wondering if there will be any interference with trolling motor, guess will need to wait and see if anyone else has had much dealings with them.

I believe it is mounted correctly in the picture. The cord would be pointed toward the transom of the boat if it was mounted on the rear. It should move forward in the direction of the cord.
