Already seen most of them while shopping new system. I was able to get fairly familiar with a lot of different units by doing this. Thanks to Catfan and that Duncan guy for the heads up on exactly what I needed to look at when shopping the HDS! Thank you too Tom for your input, let me know if you ever feel like adopting a 54 year old kid.

Hey Canepole, Could you substitute that donut in your signature with my Lowrance Ifinder H2OC? It won't lock or stay locked on satellites. I dearly want to take a sledge and smash it to smittereems, but don't have the heart too.

Turn off the WAAS feature and it will work great.

Oh, and the HDS 8 made her maiden voyage today, worked great at all speeds. I reckon I mounted both transucers right off the git go. I had a directional arrow too when going less than.5 mph, matter of fact, had that arrow change directions when the boat changed direction with the trolling motor. It was the damndest thing.

Already tried that. Shows good bars for many satellites but won't lock on, or loses lock after moving. Seems like a pretty common problem when surfing the net. My 12 year old Garmin right next to it, locks on and stays on. So it's not an issue of satellites in view.
