    Default How Deep on pontoon


    How deep in water do you put the head on trolling motor. Does it need to be below the bottom of the pontoons.
    Which way gives best control.

    I have found the best control is provided by having the TM mounted between the logs. If it is mounted on the forward deck area, it should be level with or slightly ahead of the rake of the logs. That way the TM has access to water on all sides and is not blocked by the logs.
