Thanks for posting the good news. Usually you only hear or read when people are up-set about something.

I've never had any problems with a Lowrance product other than something that was my own fault. I had an Ultra 2 last for over 25yrs. I also have the side scan transducer for it too. Lowrance was first to introduce the side scan. A lot of people don't realize this. My Ultra 2 would still be going strong today if I wouldn't have left it outside on the boat for an extended period of time (months). Anything in due time will weather when left outdoors and uncovered. I have no problem at all with Humminbird and I have researched their products many times. Whenever I spend my hard earned money, I keep an open mind about all products and try not to listen to the naysayers. Too many times folks will bad mouth something, 95% of the time it's due to their own negligence. The HDS 8 I've ordered is now on the truck for delivery. The anticipation reminds me of the feelings one has on Christmas Eve as a child.

I just sold my 520c to another member Saturday morning, then proceeded down to Eufaula to pick up a new custom built Cherokee Rod from Lip Rippers. (The man's an artist) Leland, his wife and myself then went fishing. I felt so naked fishing a lake I didn't know and no sonar. We went Old School and did so so fish wise.

Thanks to Lowrance, Humminbird, and all other Sonar manufacturers for giving us such a great choice in enhancing the fishing experience! As for Lowrance, I've rarely had to deal with customer service, but the times I have I've never had an issue. With any business, there's going to be someone that drops the ball.

There is a business principle called "The 3/11 Business Principle"

If you have a good experience with a business, you will tell 3 people.

If you have a bad exprience, you will tell 11 people.

This has changed some with the Internet. Good or bad, posting on here, you're telling 12 thousand or more. It's good either way, as it gets the word out, and companies have to act on it.

There is also the Peter Principle in play too. Looks like Lowrance may have a new Peter in charge of Customer Service.
