    Nice pictures.
question, is there a menu that allows you to choose what you display on the screen like on yours its depth, temp, speed?
I just bought an HDS-8 and I'm still trying to figure it out.
I haven't had a chance to get it on the water yet...maybe next week.

Yep that is the data overlay. You can put what you want where you want it. Like I did read the book play read some more. I still get the book out to read and I been using it for about a year now.

That just what I have been doing. I have been playing with it in simulator mode. I read the book a little, then I go push some buttons. Read more, push more. I just saw that "data overlay" this morning before work, I was wondering if that was it. No time to play with it today. I knew you could put that stuff up there or take it away somehow.
    Thanks for the input.

Question -- is there a menu to change color on those down images, always see those picts in that olive? color just wondering if a tan or blue or ? may show Di images up better & give a little more contrast to those picts, thinking you could see/tell difference in hard/soft bottoms make out structure items easier. Just asking thanks

Yes, it's called Pallette. There are 10 different colors.
I like the color shown the best, but as I said before I've only had it on simulator mode.
