Finally got a new finder...HB

Well I went to the newer Bass Pro at Rossford, OH to pick up a HB unit. My budget right now it low, so I was between a $150 and $200 range. I ended up seeing the HB 570 for 300, so I got it. I knwo it's not the top of the line, but for me and my current allowance I wanted the down imaging for the price. I've heard the whining and crying about it, but for me for now....It'll be awesome. I can only hope to keep upgrading.

Now I'm just waitin on some open water to get this thing out there....:D

rockbass..did you get the 570 HD DI....?? If that's the case..then none of the issues that you are reading about will affect you and your purchase....

You will absolutely love the DI feature in conjunction with using your 2d sonar....

The issues you have been reading about only affect the HB Combo units (chartplotters)....

And before you ever decide to upgrade to a HB unit that has GPS chartplotting....I feel that HB will have corrected this issue describe in "Project HB Donut"...

Have fun with your unit...and ask questions....these guys are so full of......uh......knowledge...

Yes the 570 DI is what I got. I hope they will have the issues out by then....hahaha. Barring any major issues with this unit, I'll have it for a while. I'm pretty simple, so I'll prob be in awe of this one for a couple years. Haha. Thanks guys. I hope to be able to report some goodies I find!

I'm very interested in this unit for the same budgetary reasons you mentioned and have been doing a little research on it. Since you just got one, maybe you can save me some time.... Does this unit come with a transducer and does it give you water temp?

Budget or not, why does everyone still go to the big retailers to buy this stuff. Go BBG (sponsor here) or go with another online retailer. They are going to kill BPS or cabelas on price, and most don't charge the taxes, or have lower rates then you do.

It's your hard earned money, get the best deal you can! I bought a Lowrance HDS combo with the LSS-1 from BBG and they beat cabelas and BPS by 25% and saved me 100.00 in taxes.

I've already found prices much lower than BPS....I just wanna know if it'll give water temp and if it comes with a transducer :D

(my research is coming back with contradictory info on both accounts.....)
