    Default Transducer mounting location

I have a triton tr20. I'm thinking about mounting my 998 transducer right in the middle right below jackplate. Right below this is a small step which includes 2 water intakes for live well. I'm wondering if these 2 intakes will mess up the graph readings. The intakes will be around 3 inches in front of the ducer and 3 inches below. Sorry for the long post. I just want to get this wright. Thanks....

    Shot,
If the water intakes are 3 inches ahead of where you are thinking about installing the Si transducer than they will not interfere at all.

As for mounting the Si transducer in the location you stated; I would have to see pictures of your boat hull first. You can send them directly to me if you want to or you can look on the Yahoo web site and see where others with the same hull have mounted theirs:

You will have to join the web site to be able to get to the Photos section. Look for the “Installation: Transducer Photo” folder.
