Default gps units linked to trolling motor

I wonder with the current advancements in marine electronics how far we are from having the ability to have our gps capable trolling motors linked to gps way points on our fishfinders? I know it may sound lazy, just thought it would be kinda cool if ya had multiple brush piles or other structure in say one large cove. I know you can record a tract on the I-pilot and retrace that path but is that path saved for future refrence, or just while the motor is deployed that time? Thought now with the mapping cards, a guy could plot a run along a channel or other bottom contour from home and just download that to the boat electronics.

The way I understand it you can save three trolling tracks up to two miles long each to the memory on your Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor with IPilot. That is what I have been told anyway.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I would not be surprised if this very thing is a future purpose of the etherner connector on the head units....

Johnson will have alot of mind blowing releases in the next two years. all as always, some of the stuff you have will not work with the new stuff, so you will have to buy more new stuff! It is the way things are done.

If they do it will be the first time. They need to build a trolling motor that doesn't make a bunch of noise first. Bracket sucks.

They made something for that many years ago. wd40 or silicone spray. Problem solved.
