HB 997C, 858C, and Interlink

I am currently using 4.995 Beta software on both units so Interlink works. Everything is working well at this time. Am I safe to upgrade the 997C to version 5.320 and the 858C to version 5.210 and have the Interlink work or should I just leave version 4.995 on the units?

Nope have to stick with the 4.995. Have to wait till 5.320 is available for both. I talked to HB about this same thing. I am also running the 4.995 beta.

I am running a 798 with the 5.210 on the bow & a 997 with the 5.320 on the consol. Both are interlinked. No problems at all.

You can run the 5.210 & the 5.320 together. You'll have a problem if you try & run the 4.995 & the 5.320.

Yeah, I read that the last time you corrected me. HB tells me it wont work. Maybe you should let HB know that you can run it.

Allan, the most recent version of software on our website for the 1197 is 5.320 and for the 798, it is 5.210. If you update one, you must update both. You can get these updates from your online account at the below link. But again, I would suggest that you wait a few weeks as we are still working out a few bugs.

I talked to'um on Friday the 11th & was told I was good ta go as long as I updated both units. Updated both units & both linked up fine. There's some new features on this release that I like. The Interlink window is new too.

I updated two 898's to 5.210 and interlink crapped out. I had to get the 4.995Beta to get interlink to work again.

I recommend the original poster to update both and test Interlink in the garage. If it works, great. If not, reload 4.995 and call HB and complain.

What version did your other unit have on it?

Both units are 898's. I upgraded both units to 5.210. Interlink then crapped out. Now both units have 4.995Beta. Interlink works.

Its possible this is just an 800 series problem. That is why I suggested the Original Poster to give it a shot. He only loses time if he has to go back down to an earlier version.

I was trying to clarify for Wiskers.

I think its certain combinations. I know linking two 800 series units together is buggy and HB customer service verified that through a phone call. They sent me the beta version to use in the interim. It looks like 1197 and 798 has same issue. I've heard others with other combinations are not having the problem.

I haven't heard of anyone with a 900 series trying to link with a 800 series complain yet. So, I still suggest he try. If he has issues, go back to an older version.
