i agree but we need more unhappy customers to help complain, most people i talk to dont care,we need a way to get this out so more people would complain.i believe maybe a side by side utube on the water would be the only way to convince somepeople

I got to admit this donut thing sent me to Lowrance. I was convinced I was going to buy a HB but just couldn't bring my self to spend that kind of money to finally get a unit with GPS and it not be funtional at the lower speed where I spend all my time. This should have been fixed along time ago.
Blueball - I'm taking the boat out in the next couple of days, I may try to make a little iPhone video of the side by side comparison, I think that is a great idea.
Crappiemax - Use this email link and send your post in to HB CS. [email protected] <[email protected]>
Done, along with a note (below)
"To whom it may concern.
As you know the guys a crappie.com are hoping to get a fix for the "donut" problem on the SI units.
They asked me to send my post in support of their plea.
I was in the market for a 998 but opted for the HDS-8
You should listen, there are lots like me out there."
Good luck with it.
Nice note C-Max. Maybe they'll realize that they are losing sales.
Doug V posted a link to HB website and said it was pretty cool because it said they are #1 in sales world wide. I managed to get the donut issue on that thread. I said they have the best CS, but the worst GPS, and explained the issue from copying some text from a post over here.
That is awesome. I've sent them a couple of similar emails and added links to this thread there and on a couple of other forums I look at. As you can see, I also added a link to this thread and to HB CS as my signature here so it will pop up wherever I post :)
Rickie - I can do that video comparison you're asking for, it will be an HB997, an Eagle 640c (Lowrance knockoff) and a Garmin 60csx and Delorme PN40 side by side, speed controlled by iPilot which should also be showing a GPS speed reading. I will be on the lake if not tomorrow then Monday.
