The base plate only uses 4 holes. My dilemma is quite like yours although mine won't hang off the front near as far. But my plate is going to have to overlap to the aluminum which I don't like. I am cooking today for the game so I won't get to mess around with it too much but the bracket does allow you to work a little easier once you get the location marked. Once you do all you have to do is mess with the bracket and not the entire motor, which makes it easier.

I have the MKA-21 and am more than pleased with it. I wanted to get the expensive one when I ordered my Terrova but the guy at Bass Pro talked me into the 21, sure glad he did. I have to remove mine every time I get home, else my garage door wouldn't close.

I originally wanted the MKA-21, but I dont think the puck will bolt to my boat. I'm afraid the front two bolt holes will be forward off the start of the slope. It might work if I get the adapter plate?

majflyboy...Would it be possible for you to measure the distance from the front two holes on your terrova to the front bolts in the puck? I know it will be a pain, but it u get a chance, I would really owe you one.

What's the puck that is mentioned, what is it, what does it do? I will be needing to do this myself in the next month or so. I have been looking at the different mounts but didn't have anything to draw from. Thanks for the thread, it has been helpful.

talltimber...The "puck" is the portion of the MKA-21 that attaches to the boat. It is a small piece (about 4x12 i think) that the motor plate attaches to when mounted. If I go with the 21, I will also get the adapter plate which will cover up pre-existing holes and hopefully add a little more support.

    Stickman,
The 32 model has multiple holes for mounting to the boat. I positioned the motor a little to the right of centerline and was able to use five bolting points. the base plate hung over the edge of the boat on one corner, also roller is not an issue.

I am in the market for a detachable device. Very confusing as to which would be the best. If you guys would take some pics of the different parts and mounting procedure as you go along it would help a great deal, or point me to a website where those pics are available. Not much info on the HB site.

I too am getting the 45 shaft terrova and don't know which quick release mounting plate to buy. I agree with the above, pics are welcomed and encouraged!
