    im shopping maby a handheld to carry on my boat to mark spots and to have lake maps any sug.

    a handheld will be good for marking waypoints, etc., but don't think the screen will be big enough to view the "maps" you are wanting. I have a garmin HH, and I use it for monitoring my trolling speed, and waypoints, but the map function on mine is not much help. I have the old skool maps in the boat for reference if needed.

    I just bought a Delorme PN-60....havent had a chance to try it out yet, but check them out....also it is one of the top ranked GPS device for accuracy on the geocaching site....they are picky on quality GPS...it uses navionics chips
