Default Anyone using one fishfinder in 2 locations?

I just bought the Lowrance HDS 5. I want to use it in two locations for now, at the bow and at the drivers seat. Does anyone else out there have their boat set up that way?

I thought about using a small 12v battery to power it and make it more mobile. If you've tried the smaller 12v batteries let me know what you think of em.

Welcome steve0. It'll work, but it gets to be tedious switching the unit back and forth. If you go to a spot and fish there for hours, you'll be fine, if you run and gun, it'll become a pain. I have HDS5 units and love them. Either way, you'll enjoy the unit.

I have the same set up. I fish out of a 16' flat bottom. Have 1 HDS that works both rear transducer and trolling motor.
You will need to get these items to make it work.
    Transducer for the TM
15' extention cable for connecting the TM transducer about $25
A switch that you plug both transducers into and then to the HDS $125
Mount HDS on a piece of plywood and you are ready to go.

Yes it is a little bit of a hasel but a lot cheaper than buying to HDS units and you get everything the HDS has to offer. Got my stuff from Bass pro. They have it on the shelf.
Am now waiting on my SS 1 to come in and will be uptown.

    Hope this helps.
