    Been looking for the best price on a 898. Found one at this site for 1299 with free shipping.
    I think it is part of the HB site. Does any one have input?
    Humminbird 800, 900, 1100 Series Fishfinders & More!

    Not part of Humminbird. Get quotes from different online retailers. Try J & H Products.

    I usually buy from Jandhproducts.com, and they are at least 20.00 higher, so as long as they are reputable, it looks like a good deal on paper.

    Good luck with the purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

    I bought my 998 from J&H and was able to negotiate the price down from what they were asking. Might try that.

    Call Marine Electronics & Fishing Equipment, Buy Humminbird, Raymarine & Garmin Fishfinders, Handheld GPS, Chartplotters, Radios, Radars & Autopilots Online and ask for John...517-281-5284...

    Tell him what you are looking for ...BUT..tell him you are adamant about getting a 2011 model...he has access to several distribution centers and he will track one down for you....

    That is, of course, unless a 2010 model is OK for you.....

    If you just "order" 1 (from anywhere) ..you could actually end up with 2010 or even a 2009 model....

    Only the model number on the unit will prove exactly when that exact unit was made...and John will make sure you get exactly what you want...

    I have not purchased from site your talking about. But I just purchased my 898 from poorfish on ebay. Paid a little under $1300 and had free shipping.

    Thanks for the input. Did it come with every thing you needed? Was it a 2011 model as someone posted earlier?

    It looks like poorfish on ebay doesn't have anymore 898's avaliable at this time...Try J&H, I spoke with them on the phone and they seemed like very good people.
