    Question Trolling Motor Question

I have a Minn Kota Power Drive V2 with US2. I am looking at putting a 788ci HD DI unit up front. The US2 won't support the DI on the 788. I will need to mount the DI transducer on the PD V2. It will have to mount behind the fin and in front of the blades.

    1. How much distortion should I expect from the fin?
    2. How large is the transducer? Will it fit?
    3. Will the 788ci HD DI unit still work for just 2D sonar using the US2 connection until I upgrade the trolling motor to a RipTide SP with out the US2????

Any one out there put a DI/SI transducer on a Minn Kota that had US2 already on it?

HB Greg??? Any ideas??? Cane Pole???

    Shine Runner,

    1. None. The fin will be in front of the transducer and at the speeds it will move your boat there shouldn’t be a problem with it producing air bubbles that will flow across the transducer (unless you are running it too shallow).

    2. I don’t know if it will fit or not as I have not installed one on anything as yet. The transducer is almost 5 inches long (4.8”).

    3. Yes the 788ci HD DI will work with the US2 but I believe it will only be able to use the 200kHz 2D sonar and not the 83kHz 2D sonar.

Thanks Greg. It looks like it will fit. Thinking with the fin in front it may actually protect the transducer some what from underwater hazards too.
