    Default 788/998 connection

Can these two units be connected with an interlink? I don't know much about it, but if I get a 998 I want to connect to the 788 on the bow. What do I need to get this done? I saw on the HB site something about an ethernet connection but I don't have another jack on the 788, just the standard base connections, nothing on the back of it. Educate me, please.

you will have to use the Interlink connection as the 788 as you know does not have a Ethernet connection on it.

Another question, do you have to have a card in both units or can you see the map (with 1' contours)on both units if only one has the card?

Each unit has to have its own map card. Its a navioncis thing, they do not allow their cards to be shared.
