Default Lowrance red and blue network connectors

Do these make it possible to use older units along with the newer HDS units to share GPS waypoints? I have a Lowrance LCX-17m currently but am looking to upgrade to a better unit in the future. I've always wanted GPS and plan to get it on the new unit, but wasn't sure if it would be able to network with my old unit since it used the LGC-2000 puck and not the LGC-4000.

Currently the 17m is on the bow of the boat with nothing on the trolling motor. I want to purchase an HDS model, put it on the bow, and move the 17m up to the trolling motor.

My Furuno 4100(which is on front) is interfaced with my LCX-17m(LGC-2000 puck) and displays gps info fine, using NEMA 0183 interface.--shu

You can share gps ant with the 17mt with a HDS unit by nema 2000, if you get the red to blue adaptor. But you will not be able share wpts with that set up. The 17mt didn't have that option share wpts with other lowrance units. Go to LEI Extras to locate the part.
