Matrix 97 Freezing up? Humminbird Gred?

My Matrix 97 has always acted weird. As in it works a second and then freezes up then works again so your getting shots of the bottom in sections.
When I asked about this back in the spring or was it last fall someone may have posted theres was doing this also. If so what did you do to fix it? Guess I will remove all the waypoints from it again and see if that helps.

That sound like transducer problem. It's waiting for a response and not getting it. Is this a shoot through installation?

No its mounted on the trolling motor. And I even used the standard transducer and it still does the same thing. Its using the built in transducer on my Terrova.

I would test your unit with another Humminbird transducer (just about any model transducer will work as they all use the same 2D sonar). If it works fine on the other transducer than I would start looking at the power wiring running to the Matrix 97 next and also check to see if this problem happens at the same time that something else on the boat is running (main motor, trolling motor, aerator, another sonar unit).
