About your only hope is to shake out as much moisture as possible and put the unit in a zip lock bag buried in rice and set it in a window sill that gets sun for about 2 days. Might get lucky, might not.

Somehow water got into my Lowrance on the front of the boat. The display screen shows a small amount of moisture fogging. It still gets power, and I can push buttons and hear it beeping, but I get no display at all. The light on the side that lights up the screen also comes on, and when I randomly push buttons, it sounds like it's going through the menus and such... just no display.
Is there anything I can do to fix this or am I up a creek without a jig pole?
Thanks in advance for replies.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
Open the unit and use a can of dry air and give it a good blowing. Don't us air from compressors. Leave it open in a dry area and place so to drain for a couple of days. Prob want work, but heck why not try it.

My 480 fogged up but would work and I did the rice trick and it worked but I think I didn't use mine for about 3-4 weeks.

I am skeptical about the rice treatment. But, after all, my name is Tom.

CP is prolly right, but not many have the well....let's say, groinological fortitude, to crack open a fishfinder. Even one that's toast otherwise. Truth is, there ain't much to 'em on the inside though. Dixie, if you're up to it, give that a shot too. You'd probably have a better shot at getting all the moisture out.

So... ummm... before putting it in the bag of rice, I grabbed the star wrench and opened 'er up to make sure there were no "puddles" inside. Nothin... that's good. It didn't even get that wet!! Grrr... I left it open overnight and put it back together before putting it in ziplock bag with rice. Fingers still crossed...
What's the report Dixie?
