    Default Humminbird 747c, Good, Bad?

I just purchased a 2002 Triton 1860SC, it has a Humminbird 747c on the bow. Are they any good? I haven't even looked at a Humminbird since my fishing buddy bought a new 4ID years ago. Everything I've had has been Lowrance or Eaqgle.

Hey Justin, ole chuck told me you had finally found a boat.....glad to see you joining the forum..

I can't answer your question about the 747 but I'm sure someone will chime in....

You have got to see what these new SI units are doin these days....maybe we can get together sometime this fall and we'll go a'fishin with my 1197...great unit.... except for the "donut"...I hate the "donut"...

    May not help but…
The 747c is just like the 777c units except that it has a low resolution display (the 77c was the model before the current 778c). So any comments not display related from 777c users should apply here.

No it is not Rickie as it does not have the internal circuitry to do so. The unit has to be built as an Si sonar unit for it to have it, otherwise we just don't put these extra components on the internal printed circuit boards.

Are you kidding, Charlie on pays pennies on the hundreds : ). I'm going to try it out before I decide on what to do with it. Most likely I'll wait for the prices on the HDS units to come down or buy a used one with Structure Scan. I have always had good luck with Lowrances.
What part of your work rotation are you in now?
