2010 Navionics Premium/Plantinum South Question

I have an 06 Premium card and at 2 points on Grenada, I loose depth contour lines...above Choctaw on the Yalabousha side and above Skuna Turkey Landing on the Skuna River side. I'm wondering if anyone has a 2010 card and whether it shows contours down to 1' increments above those points before I waste my $ on an upgrade.

Can someone with the 2010 chip and familiar with Grenada check it out for me and let me know? On my card, the contours below that point are great, but once I cross either of those lines, I'm blind.

and not on the Sippi board? We have our campout this weekend and they'll be about 50 units there you can check out. Come on over and we'll take a gander at it at camp bud but to be honest, I think I was getting contours where you was a talking bout. Sounds like yo chip is bad. Course it may have gotten wet when you broke down in the middle of the lake that day and had to get towed in hehe

WB - I like to hear what you find out about your chip. I had got a chip for my home lake Allatoona outside of Atlanta and it was the same as you described. I called them and they said their survey crew wasn't able to get that part of the lake. Which doesn't amke any sense at all. The north part of the lake I fish in 80% of the time and that was the part with no contours. Long story I sent it back and got the $ back.

rwindis, I sold my 06 card and ended up ordering a 2010 HotMaps South. Basically, I can't tell any difference between it and the 06 card. Now, having said that, on my internet travels, it appears the 08 HotMaps card data is much expanded than any other. Saw somebody mention Navionics had a server blow up and lost a bunch of data that has not been rebuilt since. No idea if that's true, but if you can run up on a 08 card, they are supposedly the best you can get.

Now, having said all that....if you have coverage in your area, the Lake Insight from Lowrance only available on HDS units appear to me to be worth the switch purely for the mapping coverage and detail. Truely amazing to look at compared to everything I'm used to. That's where I'm headed just as soon as my wife is lookin' the other way.
