    Default I have a 587combo and was wandering

    if any of you guys know if I can get the setup that I can move my FF from the rear of the boat to the front of the boat when I am up front using the trolling motor. I currently have a FF on the front but would like to use the 587 up there as well. I have looked on the humminbird site but didnt see anything, of course I could have overlooked it

    thanks

    I have wondered the same thing. Can you mount the 597 on a base that cam with a Wide eye? Do they use the same plugs etc?

    Maachuu,
    There is no ‘kit’ sold for this purpose (I don’t know why we don’t do this) but all the parts are there is you know what to look for:

    PC-10 Power Cable PC 10 :: Humminbird
    MS-M Quick Disconnect Unit Mount MS M :: Humminbird
    XTM-9-20-T DualBeam Trolling Motor Transducer XTM 9 20 T :: Humminbird

    Drifty4,
    The 597ci can use the same unit mount and power cable as the old Wide Eye unit but you will have to swap out the connector collector parts that hold the connectors in place within the unit mount. You will have to replace this with the newer connector collector:

    MBCC-M Connector Collector MBCC M :: Humminbird

    Be sure and save the screws that hold the connector collector in place as we have changed these over the years and will need to use he ones that came out of the unit mount to install the new connector collector. If you use the same transducer from the Wide Eye only the narrower 200kHz beam will work which may be enough for you. Otherwise you will need to replace it with the same XTM-9-20-T I listed above.

    Thanks for the information Greg. That helps alot.

    So if I understand you correctly, I can use the same adapter cable for the minnkota transducer that works on the 597 to hook up the wide eye to the trolling motor. Is that correct?

    Yes you can but only the 200kHz sonar will work (the 455kHz in the Wide Eye will not be connected to anything in the Minn Kota transducer).
