    Default Lowrance/Minn Kota Sonar Problems

I have a Lowrance LMS-520c GPS/Sonar unit and my sonar will work for a while and then it won't be picking up my depth. The depth numbers will be flashing. I also have a Minn Kota Powerdrive trolling motor with the co-pilot. I'm using the built-in transducer with my sonar unit. Has anyone else had these problems? I talked to a sales rep at BPS and he said some of the Minn Kota transducers had been replaced. Thanks

I found my problem, it was the built-in transducer in my Minn Kota Powerdrive. I tried another Lowrance transducer and it worked better that it ever had.

Scott did you notice an improvement over the ability to mark fish and clarity?

Did you have the US2 on your powerdrive? I'm seeing similar issues on my Terrova.

Oh yes, I saw a big difference in the ability to see fish and structure after changing to the Lowrance transducer. I now know I have a much better sonar unit than I thought I had. I do have the US2 on my powerdrive. I'd recomend getting a Lowrance TM mount transducer.

Its interesting because all this online research most seem to say the US2 works great.

Maybe we're pickier? It makes sense that the Lowrance unit works better but its sure tough to get an absolute answer.

Might check out the Airmar transducers as well.
