    what does the cx stand for ,did they make an overseas version,found one for a good price online just wanted to make sure their ain`t some kind of catch before i decide about buying it ,thanks:o

    The x designated international version and is in metric units. Not sure if it can be switched to feet. I sent Greg an email the other day asking him the same question. This is the response:

    All of the 997 models have side imaging sonar capabilities. The 997c Si is the domestic (United States) version and the 997cX Si is the International version. The differences in these two are the base maps that are installed in the unit, the units of measurement that are selectable as well as the selectable time zones. Plus the International units meet all CE and c-Tick compliances.

    Joby is probably covering another tourney.

    The “X” designation does stand for an International version unit. The differences are that the international units have added metric measurement selections (including feet/miles/MPH), languages (including English), time zones, come with a different base map and are CE and c-Tick approved. Otherwise they work just like the Domestic – US version units and use the same software update files.
