I have an old minn kota 30lb trolling motor that I want to modify to put on my kayak. The motor is old and torn and basically the only usable part is the motor it self. My plan is to install the motor inside the hull of my kayak and have the shaft of the motor extented to go through which only the propeller will be outside the Kayak. My question is that since the actual motor will be inside the hull of the kayak not in the water. Will it get overheat?

BTW I will be using the paddle to steer. The motor' job is just to prepell me forward.
