Sounds like you got good service out of that Wallyworld battery ( 6 yrs.) I have heard a lot of guys cuss the WM batterys but I have had good luck with them just as you have. Untill I have a problem ....I am gonna stick with the. I do get the biggest size that they have and I keep them topped off with distilled water, and always plug my onboard charger up when I park the boat....I leave it plugged up untill I hook up to my truck again. I always get from 5 to 7 years out of a deep cycle battery and I use mine a lot, not just for the trolling motor but the electric anchor as well.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

My buddy used to run Battery Warehouse in Greensboro. He passed away several years ago. Anyway, they sell computer backup agm batteries. I paid $30.00 for one and it has been great for over a year now. The last one I bought lasted 4 years before it started not holding a charge. I use it for trolling and to run my crappie lights.
There is only a 30 day warranty but they test it and I run it hard for the first 30 days. I have never got a bad one. They sell 2 sizes. One for $30 and one for $40. I get the $30 because it is lighter and easier to handle.
Another one of my buddies has had one for 3 years and it is still going strong. I am happy if I get 2-3 years out of a $30.00 battery.

Biggest drawback about walmart batteries is the lack of any warranty now.:o
Take a look at ac delco, the group 27 here is 98.00 and the group 30 is 125.00
Just looked and mine are 5 years old and still run all day, but I think I will change to be on the safe side.
I bought 2 new batteries at the Wal Mart I frequent earlier this year. My reciept has a warranty on it and the battery also has a warranty printed on the label. I checked with the manager and he wasnt aware some had stopped but as long as it says it on the battery and the receipt, the warranty is good.

Hi I am not trying to bardge in on your parade but I am one that has had nothing but problems with these yellow Neverstart batteries and wont buy another one. I havnt really had any issues with deep cycle nessessarly but just the yellow car batteries in general. I own alot of vehicles and boats and go through alot of batteries, Well the last one went before the warrenty expired THANKFULLY! Usually I have known them to go about a month after the warrenty. the last one was a daily driver also it isnt like it sat around. When I took the battery back Wal-Mart told me to take the battery back to the automotive department so they can test it and make sure its no good, so I do, It took those yahoos about 20 min to get the key to get the tool to be able to test the thing " like it wasnt bad or somthing" finally they came to the conclution that it was no good. This was by no means the only battery from there I was not happy about. Now they are taking the warrenty away? What? They know there crap! I will spend the extra $20.00-$40.00 and buy AC/Delco for now on, alot of others arnt bad either I like AC/Delco, Interstate,Die Hard,Deka,Optima, to name a few, just dont like the Neverstart or Neverlast batteries sorry guys just my 2 cents
