Minn Kota Universal Sonar 2 VS. OEM Transducer

I've had the opportunity to test out both the US2 on a Terrova and an OEM Lowrance (HST-WSBL) transducer and I notice a big difference in detail quality between the two. The Lowrance transducer works much better

I bought the US2 feature because it sounded great, but am dissapointed in the difference between original equipment and the US2.

Anyone else noticed a difference in this?

I use US2 on a LMS 520C and I LOVE IT!!!

I don't doubt that Lowrance's is better. I have a US-1 but stopped using it when I found that it has only a 14° cone.

I have had good results with US2 on HB and Lowrance.

I have the minn kota us-2 on lowrance HD-7 and it's just fine, I find I dont need to wide a coverage area cone wise, I just fish straight down most of the time.
