I just started using my Terrova this spring. IMHO the head response is too fast. I will get use to it... I think, and I did buy it with plans to get the Ipilot. But I have several days fishing with it under my belt and don't have the hang of it yet.

How responsive (quickly) is the Terrova trolling motor when using the foot control- had an older model of the Powerdrive whose head response was flat out terrible- before spending the "green" on the terrova I'd like to hear from anyone who has fished this motor- thanks in advance

If your are a fan of the foot rocker, go with cable. There is no electric unit that is faster then cable. My foot rocker has been defective since it was installed in 2007. I never took the time to send it in since I used the remote. Now I have the iPilot which is even better for my style. My rocker is stored in the bow incase my batteries die or I lose the remote.
I had the pd now I have the terrova. It is like night and day. I would not go back to cable driven if you give it to me. If you are in upstate South Carolina you can play with mine all you want.
I've had one for a month now and the response is fine with me. It freaks my daughter out as it's basically robotic. I do wonder if the fish can hear the noise of the motor when it's turning.

I have used the terrova for about 2 months with i pilot. Hooked the foot pedal up one time and it is so hard to push to go left that I cant keep the go button pushed.I put it in the storage in the boat and hope I dont need it again.

I switched from a Maxxum to a Terrova about 6 months ago. It takes some getting use to for sure. In my opinion it's hard to beat a cable contol for fishing timber or other places where instant steering is a must. I added the Ipilot and love it for trolling but can see where it will be a draw back in single poling in tight places.
I had a PD and installed a Terrova I-Pilot in Feb. I really like it. I have used the foot control some. It is different than my PD for sure. I like the new one better. But the remote is by far the easiest for me even in tight spots.
IMO, the rocker is ackward because of the left turn(heel). I still use it a lot but I use the buttons most of the time. I also found the remote is ackward if your casting a lot. On the foot control, I built the center button up a little more than the arrow buttons then I just rock my foot for LR turning. After getting used to it, I really like the terrova I-pilot. In all this wind we are having here the spot lock is a blessing.
It ain't nuttin but luck.
I've owned a terrova for 3 years now. Love it, I never use the rocker, cable is much more responsive. I do however use the left and right arrows in conjunction with auto pilot. just a little tap either direction with my auto pilot set and it is easy to keep fishing. I also have co-pilot which comes in handy.
