    Default Terrova and transducer cable

I got my Terrova and Ipilot today and have everything installed but routing the cable I have been studying Lovin fishings directions. His motor is built a little different than mine. I noticed the skeg on his is near the prop, where mine is at the leading end. I hope that is the only difference. I am looking for the 3/16 screw he removed. In the future I will shorten my shaft (ouch) 12 inches. Does the 12 inches come off the head end..this is sounding worse all the time. And do I need to consider that while installing the cable???

    Thanks
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

I got it all done, it was a piece of cake. Only thing I would advise is for anyone installing a new unit and you are going to route the TD cable in the shaft groove is to NOT put the I-pilot on untill you route the cable. It will save you from taking the I pilot head off again.

Glad it worked out for you RTARK. It's pretty simple ain't it? And it looks good.

What unit do you have? My Lowrance x510C cable is too big to run in the groove.

I just installed a new terrova 80# motor on my boat, had to shorten the shaft 8 inches
and I installed my transducer cable in the groove while I had it all apart. I can't wait
to try it out. My DF is a hummingbird and the cable seems to have enough clearance
in the groove, the cable doesn't seem to have any noticable contact when going down
thru the motor drive when I stow or deploy the motor. I'm really glad you posted this
setup on the forum, it worked out great. THANKS, JOE

Did the same with mine. It is a very neat and easy install.

    Default Yep....

I've been using mine for quite a while now and I've not had to change a thing about the physical set-up. I've probably used it on 35 or 40 trips and deployed it 100+ times with no problems at all. I'm using a SI unit on front and did have to add the HB interference kit to eliminate the noise on the side image screen. The 2D was flawless. DI was also OK. The large 10 gauge AWG in-line choke on the MK power lines seemed to remove most of the problem so long as I don't run the SI sensitivity in "automatic". I just run it about 10-12 or so and it does well. When I would run the TM wide open (3 MPH) to grab a good side scan of an area, there would be zero noise anyway so it's been a very valuable tool on the bow! No other problem and HB was great about sending the FREE kit to me within 3 days of e-mailing them! Awesome customer service! I just can't say enough about how good HB support is.

Anyway, I'm glad the install tip worked out for you!
