    Default New I-pilot Problem

A friend just bought a new Minn Kota PD V-2 55 lb with I-pilot. Got it mounted and carried it to the lake this morning. Speed control works, turns rt and left, but doesnt show any towers and none of the GPS functions does not work. In other words, no cruise control, advanced or regular autopilot, laying tracks, spotlock, etc. is working. Any ideas before it goes back?!?

Looks like a trip to Greenville to the authorized service center. I took and checked everything on his to mine (exact same TM) and everything wired exactly the same. Also changed out the battery in the controller and it does the same. What's happeniong is as soon as you click a button to turn the controller on, very briefly the controller displays everyting like mine does, except for just a fraction of the time my controller displayes the stuff, then his controller switches to only showing a "0" speed with absolutely nothing else showing. No bars, no nothing. Anybody ever seen this before?!?:o

Make sure your trolling motor battery is charged good. I have heard that low voltage will cause the remote not to work.

did you try to let the i-pilot "lean" the remote?

If you push a button on the remote and it shows the icons for just a few seconds, It is not seeing a motor near that is powered up.
You might also take his remote and let it "learn" you i-pilot.

    Good Luck

Just to let you folks know...Minn Kota let a bad unit get out of their shop. Main board was gone. Being replaced and will get the TM shipped back in a couple days.:o
