    Default Charging while discharging???

I am installing a 14 gal. bait tank in my boat. I am going to add a seperate battery to run the aireator pump. Will it hurt to run the pump while I am charging the battery at night?

I would think it depends on the amp draw of the pump, verses the amp output of the charger.

x2 if you're drawing 1 amp and charging 5 amps then 4 would be going into the battery and 1 would cover the draw. JMO

I know that I have been charging my battery with my depthfinder on for two days. Didn't know it till last night, it had the whole barn lit up.

There are issues to doing that. Keep a very close eye on your battery water level. The draw from the pump will cause your charger to think the battery needs charging, so it charges at a higher rate. This can boil the battery.

You could go to wally world & for $5.00 or so buy a 120volt aerator for a fish tank and run that while battery is on charge. Could save big bucks so U don't boil battery.
