Have my doubts about accuracy of gps any way. Go to google earth, google your home address and see just how far off it is. I live at 149 blank st. and it shows me at 210 blank st. That a lot to be off on gps.

Your Right....that makes sense to me....all brush piles should be in a relation to each other because I got them all from the same source....SO... all I have to do is find 1 and then just jump from point to point......back to the manual to find the best way.....
How do I go about finding a survey program????.....Got any examples????
Thanks talltimber......let you know how it works out....
that my best option so far....just labor intensive....
but keep the suggestions coming I'm learning all the time..
Is WAAS enabled?
Find the brushpiles and then remark them.
Make sure it (WAAS) is not required. I had a buddy who thought his Ifinder was messed up and it had that option selected it said it could not get signal.
TDS COGO is a cheaper type of program I think. There should be more out there. In the last few years, well longer than that, they had programs for palms, and other devices. If you can't seem to get anything done, email a point list, and your points you want to translate/rotate to, and I'll see if I can get it done. It's been awhile since I've done it so no promises(except for trying).
want to thank everybody for their help......after playing around with GPS I think the locations of brushpiles are correct....the HotMaps is what is way..way ..way off...you would think that for @ $100 you could get a better match-up of co-ord's.........but again thanks for everyones input...almost forgot after about 2 weeks lowrance finally e-mailed back saying no offset setting on Finder/GPS...geez... talk about slow response time....Karl
FYI, when getting wpt coorindate from somebody else you need make sure what there setting are like. degree's and min's or degree's, min's and sec's. also like someone stated above make sure you have same datum, i would recomend keep that in default mode on that option.
