Hds 10 Multiple Waypoints

Will the Lowrance HDS 10 take multiple waypoints with the same number.I haven't got my new boat yet(April 1 ~I hope) and was wanting to go ahead and put my waypoints on an SD card and need to know how the numbering works. I am currently using printed maps I make with Oziexplorer and the numbers are 1 through 100(example) in each bay. Would I have to rename all the waypoints in consecutive numbers or can each bay have its own group say 1 to 100 ? I would hate to set it up and have to go back and redo everything. I have over 3000 waypoints and I am looking forward to some kind of managment with them. Thanks fellers for any help....Ifish

Good question. I do not know the answer, but I bet you it will start at 1 and just number them.I had all my waypoints on one of my units, and when I got the other unit installed and connected to the lss-1 all the waypoints off old unit, auto transferred to the new one.Its also nice to put a waypoint on one and the other auto accepts the waypoint for you.Will be interesting to see who may know the answer.Alright, Crappie Chatt.lol Whats the answer to this guys question? lol

"Yes, the unit can have the same waypoint number. Just a breif look at mine, i have 5 waypoints labeled as #5. Now is there a max, i don't know. There is also a feature under advance settings that can be turned off/on to allow duplicate waypoint names. It's menu>menu>system>advance>waypoints."
